Reimagining Safety Panel and Film Discussion

18 April @ 5:30 am - 6:30 am

Join us for a screening & discussion on Reimagining Safety on Thursday, April 18th at 5:30pm, at WWU, Miller Hall 138!

Reimagining Safety (2023) explores the nature of policing, especially following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police. It discusses how policing and incarceration create more harm than good, why the system persists, and what changes can be made to make everyone safe.

Panelists include: Director Matthew Solomon, Tacoma Black Panther Party Organizer Bunchy Carter, local organizer Beth Girma, and other Whatcom County community members

We hope to draw connections between systems of policing and incarceration nationally and locally in Whatcom County.

Brought to you by the Whatcom Peace and Justice Center & the Whatcom Civil Rights Project.
