In a world marked by increasing militarization and imperialism, it is essential that we challenge this long-standing pattern and work towards building alternative systems that prioritize human needs over war and aggression. The U.S. military budget continues to soar to unprecedented heights, while essential social services and programs are consistently underfunded. This gross misallocation of resources perpetuates violence, exacerbates global inequality, and undermines our efforts towards a more peaceful and just world. The Tax Day Teach-In: Another World is Possible will feature local organizers to help us imagine a world where we prioritize the needs of our community. We will also take a look at the U.S. military budget to see what trade-offs we could make for more supportive programs, jobs, or services. This will be a great opportunity to discuss with other members of our community how we can center anti-imperialism and anti-militarism in our social justice work.
