GDAMS 2020 is over, but our work for demilitarization isn’t!

Global Days of Action on Military Spending -GDAMS- came to an end on the 9th of May, after almost one month of campaigning, with over a hundred online actions from partner organizations and thousands of individuals engaging with our campaign on social media all across the world.

Global Days of Action on Military Spending 2020 have come to a close, and we’d like to thank everyone who contributed!
From those who prepared press conferences and webinars to those who engaged through social media by sharing pictures, statements and materials, we want to express our most sincere gratitude ❤️
According to Lisa Clark, “we’re becoming more accustomed to having online meetings, webinars, press conferences, we’re getting terribly good at it… Next year we’ll be back in the streets, though!”

Together we’ve moved forward with our goal to achieve disarmament for development by raising awareness on excessive military spending levels across the world and by proposing alternatives that truly defend us and make us safe. Given the difficult circumstances provoked by the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve placed a particular emphasis on healthcare as a key element of human security and an essential public service, however severely under-funded in many countries, victim of our mistaken priorities.

Please stay tuned for more updates and help us spread our message even more!
