April 14, Event and meeting in Auckland: The New Zealand section of PNND organised a meeting in the Parliament on nuclear disarmament and Move the Nuclear Weapons Money on April 12, and the Peace Foundation is holding an event in Auckland on April 14 (contact Christopher Le Breton email@example.com or Alyn Ware, firstname.lastname@example.org).
April 17: Dorchester events: At 4:30pm: Gather at the Uphams Corner Health Center (415 Columbia Rd., Dorchester) with speakers, signs and banners, plus Remarks by Public Officials – At 5:30pm: March down Columbia Road with stops along the way at the Strand Theater, Bird Street Community Center and Public Library, Uphams Crossing Affordable Housing, The Strand Theater, etc. ending at St. Mary’s Church on Cushing Ave. At each stop we’ll present the services and funding issues associated with that location, to paint a picture of how lift would change with a people’s tax system and a People’s Budget – At 6:30pm: St. Mary’s Church: program and meal – Sponsors: Dorchester People for Peace; Massachusetts People’s Budget Campaign; Massachusetts Peace Action; Massachusetts Alliance of HUD Tenants; American Friends Service Committee (list in formation): We cannot solve the problems of affordable housing, healthcare, education, infrastructure, good jobs and the environment while we waste trillions of dollars on weapons and wars. May 3-5: Washington, DC Conference: On May 3-5, at Washington, DC, the National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee is organizing a National Conference. The theme is “Divest the Pentagon – Invest in People.” The program will include a report back from a recent Code Pink Delegation to Iran, a workshop on Building a Peace Economy, an Introductory War Tax Resistance Workshop, and more.
